discount football kits Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering signing Alvaro Morata this month after manager Antonio Conte suffered a third crushing rejection in the January transfer window.
Spurs’ transfer window has been somewhat chaotic so far after Adama Traore and Luis Diaz turned down a move to the club. Wolves winger Traore is set to return to Barcelona despite Spurs’ strong interest in the speed merchant. But Antonio Conte’s desire to play striker at full-back is said to have made Traore eye LaLiga.
Daniel Levy also led the hunt for Porto striker Luis Diaz before Liverpool arrived on the scene. The Reds acted quickly after it was reported that Spurs and Man Utd had plans for the 25-year-old.
Liverpool are said to have agreed a deal that will see them pay Porto an initial £37.5m for Diaz, with a maximum of £16.5m in add-ons.
And the bad news keeps coming for Conte, with another rejection of Franck Kessie slapping him in the face.
When Kessie received an offer to sign the player from AC Milan earlier this month, she turned down the move. It was clear at the time that he wanted to see out a title-challenging season at Milan, rather than jumping ship mid-season.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs have since tried again to sign Kessie. According to The Sun, Spurs have held a round of talks with Kessie in a bid to lure him to Tottenham on a free transfer this summer.
Will Kessie turn down Spurs? – over again
However, the meeting was said not to be “negative” as Kessie was supportive of their progress.
In fact, they claim that Kessie told them when she left Milan that she intended to stay in Italy. According to the report, this opens up the possibility of a surprising transfer to two teams – Inter or Juventus.
Losing Kessie to one of their biggest rivals would be a huge blow for Milan. Did they really lose? Hakan Calhanoglu out last summer against their city rivals; losing Kessie on the same side would hurt them a lot.
Conte is understandably very disappointed with the latest transfer, which still leaves him unsigned.
Alvaro Morata signed to ease Conte’s pain
Meanwhile, reports on Friday claim that Conte has gone into “total panic mode” amid frustration over the transfer.
As such, he is said to want to attack Juventus for Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
However, Juventus’ third reinforcement in the form of Morata also appears to be a goal.
According to The Times, the former Chelsea striker will reportedly be available to several clubs this month.
With Juve signing Dušan Vlahović, Morata is surplus to the Bianconeri.
